(Got FreeBSD 2.0 from the CDROM) The manual says that you need to have the tun device added to the kernel then user MAKEDEV to create it. Well, I did this by, as instructed, adding the PSUEDO-DEVICE TUN 2 line to the kernel and recompiled it. Seemed to complile without errors, however ./MAKEDEV tun0 only gives the error that it cannot make the device. My impression of the manual is to do the following; 1. Port or get Kermit 2. Verify the tun device (what's up with this) 3. Create the /etc/ppp/options and /etc/ppp/ppp.conf files 4. Then access the modem using kermit 5. The rest of the steps omitted to save bandwidth. :) Anyway, do have this wrong, and why the heck doesn't the tun device wanna be created? What TTY stuff should I be looking at? BTW.. I can tip the modem and dialout just fine. If you wanna see the manual point yer browser to www.freebsd.org. Blake
