The problems I know of are occasional warm boot probe problems where you won't find the ports during boot up without a power cycle (and in my experience after I've been monkeying with the serial driver) and no modem control support (since the wires aren't there). >The story: 486 running 2.0R, Boca 8 port board (BB1008). /dev/cua01 which >is a standard, plain vanilla cheapy pc dual serial/parallel port works fine >I can "cat ttys > /dev/cua01" and watch the lights blink. I don't have the Boca documentation here to see if that is part of the board- look in the back of their manual where they give you the pinout for the ports. To get off the ground, try setting the device as a hardwired terminal with no modem control: > stty clocal < /dev/ttyid4 and see if that works, then go from there. -- Peter Dufault Real Time Machine Control and Simulation HD Associates, Inc.
