Hi Daniel. I'd suggest to read the manpage about disklabel. So you get the needed infos how to disklabel a harddisk. If it's a SCSI device, then it should be recognized automatically by the kernel. Should be /dev/sd1 then, if the SCSI ID is > than the ID of your bootdisk. The hardest part will be to disklabel the disk. Newfs and such should be clear ;-) Ah ... not to forget, you have to create device nodes via MAKEDEV. The MAKEDEV script contains infos for that purpose. Sorry for the undetailed answer, but I don't have a second harddisk handy ... perhaps the hint with disklabel helps a bit... I saw your question in the mailinglist, too, so I thought better this answer than none ;-) manlobbi ;-) -- andreas@knobel.gun.de /\/\___ Wiechers & Partner Datentechnik GmbH Andreas Klemm ___/\/\/ - Support Unix - aklemm@wup.de - \/ ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/Printing/aps-491.tgz apsfilter - magic print filter 4lpd >>> knobel is powered by FreeBSD <<<
