Subject: lost freebsd boot when installing win95...

A client had FreeBSD 2.0.5 and Windows 3.11 on partitions 2 and 1,
respectively, of a 1GB SCSI drive (the only drive in the system).

Multiboot setup, using FreeBSD's standard Master Boot Record (MBR) --
the one that presents the

  F1 DOS
  F2 bsd

menu.

Client installed Windows 95 (without consulting me). This apparently
replaced the MBR with one that just boots win95. So FreeBSD partition
is inaccessible.

I attempted to reinstall the FreeBSD MBR (with bootinst.exe). Result:
it boots *neither* FreeBSD nor Win95. Pressing F1/F2 in all cases just
causes the two-line boot menu to reappear.

Was able to restore the win95 MBR, so Win95 boots again. FreeBSD still
inaccessible.

Help!
