It comes in the ports distribution with 2.0.5 (there's also a package, but it's better to compile it yourself - in fact I believe the package has been dropped from 2.1.0 as it was too difficult to make one that was general enough). The main 'gotcha' with INN on FreeBSD is that using MMAP is known to cause occasional system crashes due to a bug in the MMAP implementation! However, the performance without MMAP is almost as good as with it, due to the very sophisticated FreeBSD VM system. Apart from that, INN is one of those things for which you really do have to read and understand all the documentation - fortunately there's a very good FAQ which is posted to the news.software.nntp newsgroup.
