Keywords: parallel printer 386bsd lpt1 Message-ID: <BvEp92.91@news.cso.uiuc.edu> Date: 30 Sep 92 19:39:02 GMT Sender: usenet@news.cso.uiuc.edu (Net Noise owner) Organization: University of Illinois at Urbana Lines: 7 I would like to get my parallel printer (HP DeskJet 500) to work on lpt1 with 386bsd. Any clues ? I tried creating /dev/lpt1 and /dev/lp as was mentioned in an earlier post , without any success. A related question I have is that 386BSD doesn't seem to recognize the presence of LPT1 on bootup while com1 com2 etc are recognized, what is happening there ? Venkat
