Most people seem to use NCR (52c810) or Adaptec (AHA[23]940) : controllers when it comes to PCI. The BT-946C worked fine for me. I'm told that the Adaptec 2940 is faster, but I haven't had a chance to check for myself yet. : > Video cards: : > : > Again, I'm looking for a fast PCI card. So you have to be : careful, and you should verify the XFree86 READMEs (or by Accelerated : X by Xinside) in order to be sure. : : I'm using a #9 card that is S3 Trio64 (aka. 86c764?) based. It works : well, including in 16-bit mode. I'm using a #9 GXE 64 Pro and it works like a champ. With 4 megs of VRAM is makes a nice 1280x1024 X box. :-) Chris -- Christopher Mauritz | For info on internet access: ritz@mordor.com | finger/mail info@ritz.mordor.com OR Mordor International | http://www.mordor.com/ 201/212/718 internet access | Modem: (201)433-7343,(212)843-3451
