However whenever I invoke tcpdump I get a "device not configured" error on /dev/bpf0. The bpf device is in place and seems to have the permissions set correctly. Do I need to rebuild the kernel to use packet filtering ? If so, what parameter needs to be changed and where ? I am currently running FreeBSD 2.1 Thanks in advance for the help!
