Date: 31 Dec 1995 04:17:14 GMT Organization: CERFnet Lines: 26 Distribution: world Message-ID: <4c52sa$lge@news.cerf.net> NNTP-Posting-Host: nic.cerf.net I have two ethernet cards in my freebsd box (v2.0.5). One has 1 class C IP address and the other another class C IP address. Both are routing to each other. There are two class C's on this network going out on one T1 line. Primary and secondary DNS are handled by the other class C's WindowsNT server. I can connect to some sites, yet there are some sites that fail to give a "connected" message, much less connect me at all. I have reverse addressing as well as both class C IP addresses assigned to the machine as well (i.e. nslookup shows both class C IP's). For a while, I could not connect to ftp.uu.net, until I stuck in the second class C IP address (nslookup thing mentioned previously). But there are still some sites that are failing. My question(s) are: 1) How can I fix this with my current setup? 2) Do I need to run named on my machine (set it up as primary nameserver)? 3) If I need to run named, how? BTW, ftp and telnet are not the only things that fail. Sending email also fails (i.e. msn.com, aol.com). I get connection timeouts for sending out email. If anybody can help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Elya.
