Agreed. There used to be a README file for XFree86 previously, eplaining the file naming (which is rather ugly in order to fit into braindead 8+3 rules). I'm not on-line now, so i cannot check whether this file is missing now. The /xperimnt and /commerce are large single .tgz files for some reasons unknown to me.
