I'm running FreeBSD 2.1 with an Adaptec 2940W controlling a 9GB F/W drive
(can't recall the manufacturer right now). 2.0.5 had a really hard time
installing and in fact fouled up to the point where I only had a 2GB file
system. I reinstalled with 2.1 and it all worked fine. I would advise you
to use the novice install and use the 'a' option to use the entire disk.
