I have had three cases like this. These were the fixes in each case:
( each different systems - different locations )

1) Rang the local electricity board. Found a large substation nearby.
   Installed a UPS and line condidtioners.
2) Changed external SCSI cable.
3) Changed Adaptec SCSI controller.

Check your /usr/adm/messages file for clues. If you have one.
