Date: 2 Jan 1996 13:30:56 GMT Organization: Photogrammetrie GmbH Lines: 28 Message-ID: <4cbc2g$cld@muenchen.photogrammetrie.de> NNTP-Posting-Host: muenchen.photogrammetrie.de X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Hello world, I've been trying to get IP Filter 2.8.2 to work on a FreeBSD box (Compaq 386/25, 8MB RAM, FreeBSD 2.0.5 [the FreeBSD 2.1 CDs haven't made it to Germany yet ;-( ]) I managed to compile and install the software according to the instructions. Loading the kernel module and the rules also seems to work. However, the kernel panics fairly soon after the rules have been loaded with a message "panic: malloc - bogus type". I contacted Darren Reed about it, but except for a short note saying that he had run into the problem a long time ago (and fixed it), he only said that it does work on his FreeBSD system... From what else I've seen from the software it looks like a nice piece of work, and I would like to use it, but if it doesn't work... :-( Has anyone succeeded in getting IP Filter to work (and maybe run into the same problem along the way)?
