I am running FreeBSD 2.0.5 RELEASE. Last week I had problems with the HDD on
my machine so I took it down, installed FreeBSD 2.0.5 on a new disk, brought it
back up and restored all the old files and configuration from the old disk.
Well this worked, for about a weekend. Now I've started getting "Permission
denied" errors all over! Users attempting to login get "/usr/local.bin/bash:
Permission denied", sendmail gets errors like "SYSERR(UID1): Cannot exec
/usr/libexec/mail.local: Permission denied" and "/etc/pwd.db: Permission
denied". Users trying to POP retrieve EMail get "cannot write to tmeporary
file: Permission denied".

I have NO IDEA what could be causing this. I have tried everything I can think
of! The only user that can do anything, even login, is root. But even then,
root gets an error executing 'man' like "No ld.so".

Any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated. In the meantime I have 50+
angr EMail nogetters breathing down my neck! :(

Thanks in advance, Chad Attermann
