No UN*X is entirely *easy*, but it will certainly do everything you describe
above with a little configuration work.

Yep!  news.cdrom.com is such a beast, using a single 7GB hard drive.

No, they're entirely different animals and both completely stand-alone.

FreeBSD is available on Intel.  NetBSD is available on Intel, Suns, ALPHAs,
