I have the same problem with my Reveal 4x drive. FreeBSD seems to think
it's an ATAPI tape drive and then it tells me it can't support it. I am using
the kernel.IDE from the 1st CD (2.1) and I also tried kernel.ATA (I think that's
the name) off the 2nd CD. I'm refering to the Walnut Creek CD's in case there
are others.

What exactly should all the master/slave first/second be set to? I have
a Western Digital 850Mb hard drive and a Reveal 4x CD-ROM and I have tried all
different combinations of m/s f/s with no luck.

I'm just hoping maybe someone else out there has the same configuration
I do. Btw, I am using a Promise EIDE 2300+ with LBA off and onboard BIOS off.
