After obtaining the source (placing it under /usr/ports/distfiles) and the port, I compile it, and it appears to patch the source and compiles with no errors. However, when I use the test scripts to test it, it fails. Furthermore, when I place it in /etc/inetd.conf and /etc/services (see below) and HUP inetd it causes all sorts of problems. From an attempt to logon to localhost through tcp wrappers, I get the following messages in /var/log/messages ... Jan 5 09:23:11 drakar inetd[91]: /usr/local/etc/in.identd: exit status 0x100 Jan 5 09:23:42 drakar last message repeated 28 times The entry from /etc/inetd.conf reads ... ident stream tcp wait root /usr/local/etc/in.identd in.identd The entry from /etc/services reads ... auth 113/tcp ident tap #Authentication Service auth 113/udp ident tap #Authentication Service The logging authority on wrappers is set to LOG_AUTH. Any help would be appreciated. regards scott PS does someone have a pre-compiled binary available (maybe a new package) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Scott Mewett | With the lights out its less dangerous Senior Researcher | Here we are now QUT | Entertain us Brisbane, Australia | I feel stupid and contagious Email: scott@fit.qut.edu.au | Here we are now Phone: (07) 3864 1212 | Entertain us Fax: (07) 3221 2384 Web: http://www.fit.qut.edu.au/~scott
