You are obviously blissfully aware of how Sun and USL maintain
their source trees.

It is difficult (if not impossible) to get cross-platform changes
done in their environment.

This is intentional, in that it limits damage.

On the other hand, if you are hiring engineers to hack code,
you should probably not think of it as damage.
