I vaguely remember some mention of porting Java to FreeBSD ( doubtless a "pseudo-MT" implementation, since FreeBSD has no kernel threads ) taking place on the java-porting list. I don't know what the status is. Personally, until there are real threads in FreeBSD, I don't see why the Linux emulation is any more heinous of a kludge than what might get ported. Maybe the difference is that a JDK or other programming environment will be available? Oh, BTW, this is under 2.1.0-RELEASE. --Karl
