I have a rather large password file from BSDI that I'd like to use on
FreeBSD without having to find everyone and have them change their
passwords. This is not a system password file, but one built using crypt
in PERL for WWW use.

I have the DES version of crypt on FreeBSD and I'm generating 13 character
passwords, but they still don't seem to match up.

I tried using PERL to find out what going on and made sure that the salt is
the same, the generated passwords are different from the old ones.

Is there anything I can do to make this work, or am I hosed?
