Most people seem to use NCR (52c810) or Adaptec (AHA[23]940) controllers when it comes to PCI. However, there are some, such as myself, who still recommend the BusLogic cards over the others. Because BusLogic is a good open company to work with, and their cards are high quality and perform well. Read archives of these groups if you want to know my opinion of Adaptec's closed policies -- Adaptec has good performance; that isn't my argument with them. The NCR can be flaky under heavy load, but it's also probably the least expensive (good) PCI SCSI card you can get. -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael L.
