Yesterday, i did: ifconfig ef0 www.taggart.com alias which worked fine - I could ping the virtual host, etc. Now, no matter what I do I get the following error message: ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCAIFADDR): File exists even after I reboot! I have read that you can use "-alias" to undo an alias. While this ifconfig seems to not complain and I can in fact do the ifconfig again (with the alias, not -alias) and get no complaints, I can never get a ping to work. What is going on here? I was even so parinoid that I rebooted all the systems on the net -- no change. Any help would be appreciated. Email answers would be better since I see them sooner. -- ------ Scott Taggart email :taggart@cdepot.net Home Page :http://www2.cdepot.net:/~taggart/ Watson :(209) 296-5288 8-5 Pacific Time
