Actually, we had a number of 2.3+patches machines doing quite well -
until we jumped them to 2.4.

Sun's autoinstall:

1) made it easy to load the patches on N hosts
2) inspired a system to greatly help with upgrades to 2.4, when the 
   time came.  We're off using it to move to 2.5 now.
