Did I missed something to install ? It's 'latex.ltx' nowadays. Run 'make' in /usr/ports()..latex(whichever version you want) to extract the distribution. Edit your config files (under 'work') for extras such as foreign language hyphenation etc. 'make'; 'make install'. If more editing is necessary just do 'initex latex.ltx' unless you insist on running latex209.
