The SVr4 code base was first released in 1989.  Now, 6 years later,
promoters of Solaris/SVr4 can finally say, "Hey, we have all these new
features, and we are as fast and bug-free as our old OS."

I wouldn't be bragging about that.  Six years is a long time.  

Maybe SVr4 is the future, but SVr4 has been historically so slow/buggy,
it is hard to even believe people when they say you should take another
look at it.

It's like the history of OS/2.  IBM released the OS with so many
delays/problems, the market just said, "It ain't worth it."

[ Unixware had the same SVr4 problem. ]
