I don't know about the sz problem.... you might have users tyry some of 
these:
sz -boerw 4096 filename.zip
sz -b -e -k -l 1024 filename.zip

As far as NFS problem... Unfortunately, you cannot do what you want to 
do...  You cannot NFS mount a mail spool (flock() cannot run on an NFS 
mounted drive on your BSDI box... a pity, because I want to do it to!)
