Greetings,

I noticed that your having problems with SLiRP, well I am an ISP here in
Montreal and I run SLiRP. My customers have no problems with it however
I must admit that I keep current with the developement. The final and
offical ver 1 was released on Dec 25 95 (yes Christmas Day) and even then
a ver 1b was released on Jan 7 th or so with a couple of tweeks.
Something to consider if your having problems is: 1) is your ".slirprc"
file set up properly for what you want to do. In this file your ISP must
configure Slip/CSlip/PPP also what baud rate 300-115,000 what packet
lenght ie:552 1200 or 1500 etc. all of this must be set by him in order
that you can operate properly.

When you get the "SLiRP ready..." read what version it is and if the
version is not 1.0b (not a beta version) you might try to advise your ISP
to ftp to "blitzen.canberra.edu.au/pub/slirp" and pick up the new version
the next thing that you can look at is your specific .slirprc file in the
/home directory you can get details in the "ReadMe" file available at the
above FTP site and then configure your ".slirprc" file to suit your
requirement. Ping is one of the new features that is aviable with the
final release and FTP works (very well) too.

If I can be of more assistance please advise
