Seems a bit nicer and more productive What's the point? The ground rules for Usenet were established many years ago - please refer to the FAQ for news.announce.newusers. I'm sorry if my approach appears to be excessively heavy-handed, but this is the thin end of an extremely thick wedge. Suppose everyone in the core team decided to follow your example and post their code to the newsgroup - this newsgroup would become totally unuseable. Please remember that many people have to access the Internet over slow connections at their own expense (and to pay for their phone calls).
