It needs an ``override'' record in scsiconf.c.  This is also true for
my Plasmon, since it identifies itself as a CD-ROM if there's a ROM in
the drive at INQUIRY time.  (Without a disk, or with a CD-R, it claims
to be a WORM, however.)
