That is *not* the case with BSDI. About the only thing you need the DOS setup utility for is to diable Plug'n'Pray if you have a 3C509B, and I haven't seen many systems that even needed that. This is covered clearly in the ef manual page. It would help the people asking questions like these if the people answering provided correct an- swers (not picking on you in particular, but I've seen other responses to this thread that also said to use the DOS setup utility).
