Great Job FreeBSD Team on 2.1R Date: Fri, 19 Jan 1996 11:37:03 -0500 Organization: Express Access Online Communications, USA Lines: 28 Message-ID: <30FFC8AF.41C67EA6@bottlenose.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: bottlenose.com Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-Mailer: Mozilla 2.0b4 (X11; I; FreeBSD 2.1.0-RELEASE i386) CC: trb@bottlenose.com Sorry if this is a re-post, but I don't think my first attempt made. Congrat's to the FreeBSD Team on the 2.1R release. I went with many of Jordan's Picks for hardware and the 2.1R release is up and running very well. Hardware: I've got a 90MHz Pentium MB with 32 Meg EDO ram on a ASUS P55TP4Xe motherboard. An Adaptec 2940 SCSI controller and a 2.1 disk. #9 771 with 4Mg Vram. Software is operational: I've built (compile and link time) in about 7 minutes. User PPP runs like a champ (It was up for a few days straight) X is running Netscape 2.0B4 and Netscape news works. FTP, Telnet, and a WWW server are jamming along with Mail. I have a few questions, but I like to say that I'm a very happy customer and IMHO that the FreeBSD team did an EXCELLENT job !
