Newsgroups: comp.unix.bsd.freebsd.misc From: kurt@pinboard.com Date: Thu, 25 Jan 96 19:05:56 JST Message-ID: <8249-264362201@pinboard.com> Organization: PINBOARD - it's where you go for e-mail Lines: 14 I hope this question does not look dumb. I'm very new to UNIX and need to set up the machine as a DNS server. FreeBSD is installed and tucking away nicely (as far as I can tell). At bootup 'named' is mentioned in the list of started daemons. But I'm not sure, is this all to have DNS running? (Yes, I ordered reference manuals, but they are not available here in Japan and it will take some time till they arrive.) Cheers, Kurt ... Kurt@pinboard.com / 25 Jan 96 12:19:28 (JST)
