Yes. I have interchanged tar tapes between my Sun 3/60 (SunOS 4.1.1, Wang- tek 5150ES), my MS-DOS PC (MS-DOS 5.0, Wangtek 5150ES, Andreas Kaiser's GTAK), and my BSDI system (BSDI gamma, Wangtek 5150ES) without any problems. > 3. No problems, although you do have a second controller generating heat, etc. The 1542B uses different I/O ports from the IDE controller. On my BSDI system I ran a 210Mb IDE, 760Mb SCSI, and the tape all at the same time. Your budget and possible growth plans should be considered when thinking about converting the IDE to SCSI. Is the IDE controller on the motherboard or on an expansion card?
