Not that it'll be much consolation, but exactly the same thing happened to me.
And it worked on my first install, which I considered to be a "throw-away"
installation just to find my way around. Then when I reinstalled, Booteasy
got installed when I didn't want it to. I assumed that I just goofed, but
now I wonder if we've tripped across a bug somewhere.

I havn't tried to fix it yet, so I don't know if FDISK /MBR will work. It
certainly seems like the right thing to do.

>Thanks in advance. I still will be able to boot freebsd with a floppy right?

What I've done is put a patched version of Booteasy on a floppy. This way
nobody gets to FreeBSD but me, but I don't have to wait for as long as it
takes to boot from floppy. (Well, at least that's the way it worked on the
first install)
