Nick: you're a maniac! > >I highly recommend version 2 of fvwm. (Not the 1.X version in ports.) OpenLook is an *attrative* window manager, but lacks a lot of function. I'm using fvwm 1.X. It's got the following features I consider essential: * Virtual desktop. * Panner box with ability to adjust window positions by their outlines. * Ability to move desktop view by merely pushing cursor to the edges of the screen. Unfortunately, it takes a *lot* of setup and experimentation to make it look good, though. Plus, I wanted left-justified titles, so I had to hack the source. It'd also be nice if I could specify a pixmap for window decoration buttons rather than a series of coordinates for lines. Maybe fvwm 2 allows that? -- Sean Kelly NOAA Forecast Systems Laboratory, Boulder Colorado USA Instead of a trap door, what about a trap window? The guy looks out it, and if he leans too far, he falls out. Wait. I guess that's like a regular window. -- Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handey
