Who says the 946C's are discontinued?  I picked up a pair less than a

What bios?  The PC should be configured to say there are no hard drives.  
About the only options on the BT cards to twiddle with are "bios controls 
booting", and "compatibility option".

Those are the only two to worry about: set them and run the utilites 
menu/SCSI bus info to report what's on the bus.

Indeed it will.  Don't worry about DOS seeing them.  I don't know whether 
you were or not:)  Just set the controller up as the primary, and play 
with the other two options.  As a last resort, email me and I'll cycle my 
system so I can tell you what works here.
