Please do not flame me for posting this question which I am sure has been
asked before, I just subscribed to this discusion and haven't seen it
posted yet.

I am installing Freebsd v. 2.0.5 on my DX66 with a 120 meg HD, and a
Toshiba IDE CDROM , both attatched to a DTC EIDE controller. Teh The HD
is an port one and the CDROM is on port 2 of the controller card.

i followed hte install instructins and xcopied the appropriate files to
my DOS drive, created a boot floppy, rebooted the system and started the
installation process. When I got to the point where I neede to select
the media type, I got a mesage telling me that it did not recognize a
CDROM device.

From what I gather, I need to modify the kernel to tell it where the
cdrom is located. how do I go about doing this? I would prefer to be
able to install from CDROm rather than froma DOS partition.

Thanks for any help.

Chris
