I would also be interested in opinions on the desirability or otherwise of an FPU for UNIX/X - would the Nx586-133 (without FPU) be a better choice - is X11 dominated by integer or floating point performance ? On paper the NexGen would seem to be a very good deal (have seen motherboard + P110f chip advertised for $360) and I do have a sneaking regard for their ability (as a small player) to provide some competition for Intel (which must be a good thing for all of us) ----- PaulC (paulc@jagunet.com)
