In your case, it's probably just a matter of turning on cylinder
translation (or turning it OFF if it was off before) and hoping that
Adaptec didn't change their translation scheme between the two
controllers.  Adaptec marks this option as "Support for drives >1MB?"

If they did change the translation, then your only hope is a reinstall
or booting forever more off a floppy! :-(
