The EtherExpress driver is a known rogue and is really only included because it allows one to at least install a machine using an IE16, but really not much more than that. The code is broken in some way that causes it to suffer from frequent timeouts and resets, and short of fixing the driver (which would be cool, since the original author has made it very clear that he's abandoning it) I would suggest swapping to another ethernet card, like an SMC Ultra16 or something! -- - Jordan Hubbard President, FreeBSD Project
