Do a massive restore with lots of small files, then hit the reset button while in the process of restoring the files. Do that a few times... By no means this is very scientific and you probably will never be able to reproduce the exact the same condition however it is a *valid* case to guard against. Oh, I ran into the above scenario in my home box with faulty power. For a period of a week, my FreeBSD file systems survived the ordeal. System crashes is another reason, specially when you are working on a device driver. -- Amancio Hasty Hasty Software Consulting Services Tel: 415-495-3046 Fax: 415-495-3046 Cellular: 415-309-8434 e-mail: hasty@star-gate.com Powered by FreeBSD
