I am getting alot of calls about this problem. This is a bug which affects all 4.4Lite unices, which include BSDi, FreeBSD, and NetBSD. It has recently been fixed in FreeBSD (both -current and -stable), and may also be fixed in BSDi 2.1. It's a kernel bug that is caused by bringing in the arp code into the same class as the rest of the routing additions. Contact BSDi support and see what they say.
