Then don't spend it. Borrow a boot floppy from a friend with
the format command on it. Format your disks. The format your
floppies in unix with:
newfs /dev/fd?a floppy?    
	 0 or 1---^        ^-- 3 or 5
	 which floppy?     3.5" or 5.25"
that should do it.
