>DOS is cool!

- NOT!
What is "cool" about DOS? It starts with the annoying backslash \ in
file paths that is hard to type on non-US keyboards (on a German
keyboard, e.g., you need to hold the right Alt key and press some key
in the upper row (between 0 and the accents)). Then you try to
partition a 1 GB HD in one partition and you get a 32K cluster size.
At last, you try to write a program that needs more than 32K dynamical
data, and... then it's already overdue to switch the OS and convert to
Linux. If you are still believing that crashes are not your fault,
that is. If you share most DOS/Win users' view, namely that you are
the one to blame for hangups, then you are constantly losing
self-confidence and end up being counterproductive and sad.

>But fat partitions have to do with the filesystem, not
>the OS in particular...

- again NOT! Take DOS, remove the filesystem, what is left?

Kind regards,
   Chris
