Still, when I issue startx, I get a flash of messages too quick to read and then a blank screen. The Ctrl-Alt-+ and Ctrl-Alt-Bksp controls do nothing. I did check the FAQ, but no hints. This is probably something obvious (once I see it), but can anyone offer any help? Thanks.
