It has and continues to offload significant overhead associated with protocol conversion for dialup users (ie. PPP/SLIP/CSLIP). The cost of the terminal server is about 1250 if you shop around carefully - but the suggested list is about 2195. The server connects to your system via BNC ethernet (or DB15 AUI) connector. You may gets lots of replies on what multiport serial card to use. This solution seems best for us.
