Hi Curt,

I had a similar problem installing FreeBSD onto the second hard disk. After
installing there was no active partition on the first drive, but I told
FreeBSD not to install the boot manager.

The solution is simply to install the boot manager "by hand". On the CD-ROM
there is a DOS-program called "bootinst.exe" together with a file named
"boot.bin" in the directory "tools". You should also find these at any site
with a FreeBSD distribution.

Boot DOS and start "bootinst.exe". This will install the FreeBSD boot
manager (called boot-easy) to your system. In the directory "tools/dist"
there should be one or two ZIP files called "bteasy*.zip" that contain a
README.

Cheers,
Thomas
