Take DOS, remove the filesystem, what is left? > Are DOS and Win 3.* feeble excuses for operating systems? No argument. Did Win 95 live up to its hype? That would have been impossible. Is Win NT a real operating system? Is NTFS a real file system? If you don't think so, have another look. While you're complaining about nonissues like backslashes and old software that was constrained to fit in 640K, and UNIX vendors are concentrating on keeping their proprietary products incompatible with each other, Microsoft is polishing NT.
