The current situation with 386bsd meshed into comp.unix.bsd is overloaded and confusing. There is a great deal of traffic dedicated to 386bsd, mixed in with unrelated discussion of other BSD systems, including other commercial BSD systems aimed at the i386 platform, which is especially confusing to new users who are unable to distinguish easily between BSD/386 and 386bsd. This needs to end. EXPLICITLY: This RFD proposes a SINGLE UNMODERATED newsgroup, named comp.os.386bsd to service the entire 386bsd community. My informal polls have shown that the vast majority of 386bsd users favor the creation of (initially) only ONE new group for 386bsd traffic.
