Date: Wed, 07 Feb 96 23:46:07 GMT Organization: Hooked Online Services Lines: 21 Message-ID: <4fbeio$k64@its.hooked.net> NNTP-Posting-Host: webe-55.ppp.hooked.net X-Newsreader: News Xpress 2.0 Beta #0 I had set up a Dell 486sl/25 as a web server at home with FreeBSD. I had made my own mini-lan at home mirror the one at school. I installed FreeBSD, bison 1.24 (?), and Spinner B10. All goes swell at home, web server works, ftpD works, telnetD works, etc. But to my dismay, the server goes **very** slow starting up network aspects at school, this happens after ifconfig ix0 is run, and to top it off, the network doesn't work. We run a 50 user Novell / Novell TCPIP network, and the lan is linked to a district wide lan, so there is traffic, especially where the Dell is, in the Tech Lab (16 IPX/TCP stations). Please help. Win16 daemons are no match for Spinner and FBSD! System: Proc: 486sl/25 Mem: 8 megs, 72 pin HD: Quantum 170 NIC: Intel EtherExpress 16 Other: Built in HD/FD FD0: 1.44 FD1: None --Matt Clark
